Introduction

Shopping from Indian online stores offers access to a wide range of products, including traditional clothing, fashion accessories, books, home décor, and regional merchandise. For customers living overseas, these websites provide an opportunity to purchase products that may not be readily available in their local markets.
However, arranging international delivery requires more than selecting products and completing checkout. Customers need to consider domestic delivery restrictions, package dimensions, international shipping charges, customs requirements, and estimated transit times.

Planning your order before purchasing can help you manage these details more effectively. Indian online shopping for international delivery becomes easier when you understand the package forwarding process and prepare your purchases in advance.

ForwardBuy provides a virtual Indian shipping address and international package forwarding options for eligible purchases, including deliveries to destinations such as the USA and Singapore. This guide explains how to plan your shopping order, estimate costs, and prepare your packages for international shipment.

1. Decide What You Want to Purchase

The first step is to prepare a shopping list. Knowing what you need before browsing online stores can help you compare prices, avoid unnecessary purchases, and organise your shipment.

Common product categories include:

Traditional Indian clothing and fashion accessories.
Books, educational materials, and publications.
Home décor and selected household products.
Eligible beauty and personal care items.
Gifts and festive accessories.

Check the availability of each product and confirm that it can be shipped to your intended destination. Some items may be subject to carrier restrictions or import regulations.

If you plan to purchase from several Indian retailers, maintain a list of the products, prices, sellers, and expected domestic delivery dates. This information will help you track your orders later.
